What are we looking for?
We're looking for bright, creative people - individuals who'll make the most of the opportunities a career with such an inventive company offers. And graduates who are down to earth and motivated by the idea of helping make people's lives easier through innovative technology.

Technical Roles
To qualify for our technical business areas you will need a degree in Engineering, IT or Telecoms, as well as a passion for technological innovation.

Non-technical roles

  • You must have a 2:1 degree or equivalent
  • Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are welcome
  • For our technical roles you will need a degree in Engineering, IT or Telecoms
  • For our non-technical roles, all degree types are accepted, although you should have an interest in a business area such as project management.

Who we are

We’re a global leader in market changing communications technologies and our vision is a world where everyone can share information wherever, however and whenever they want – through voice, data, images or video. Having secured a market position of being one of the few companies worldwide that can truly offer end-to-end solutions for all major mobile communication standards; and with more than 40 percent of the world’s mobile traffic passing through our networks, you could say we’re on our way to achieving our goal.

If you’re keen to work for a company whose strategy is to make people’s lives easier and richer; provide affordable communication for all and find new ways for companies to do business, then you’re looking in the right place.

Expect the extraordinary

At Ericsson, you’ll be encouraged to think differently and be a proactive team player.  And if you’re inspired by the values that lie at the heart of our culture – respect, professionalism and perseverence – then you’ll soon join forces with other bright creative people in coming up with the new ideas that keep us at the forefront of a fiercely competitive market.

You’ll be joining a company that invests in R&D and actively promotes standards and systems.  We have one of the industry’s most competitive intellectual property portfolios, containing over 27,000 patents – and you can look forward to a role where you’ll soon be helping to add to this number.

Are you ready to take the technological lead?

We take the development of our future technological leaders very seriously. That's why we have developed the Ericsson Graduate Programme that provides the best form of training and detailed project involvement that will enable you to build your technical and industry knowledge whilst sharpening your soft skills and business awareness.

We're looking for high calibre graduates who are able to shape the future of our business; talented individuals who have already excelled in their chosen area.

In return we'll offer you a placement on our 18 month programme with rewards that include a competitive salary and sign-up bonus, a creative and fun working environment, as well as the chance to have an impact on the future of one of the most innovative companies around.

Case Study 1

Daniel Phillips
Role: Graduate Project Manager
University: Business Studies – Bournemouth University

As a Project Manager, I oversee the lifecycle of a project from inception to delivery and manage a range of tasks and resources in order to achieve this. It’s a very people-focused role, with me as the point of contact within Ericsson for the customer. Organisation is imperative, as I usually have several meetings and calls every day. And then there are the courses, each designed to develop graduates like me into future leaders. These have been hugely beneficial, especially the ‘human’ skills courses. It’s proof of Ericsson’s commitment to a culture of high performance, transparency and respect for its people.

I’d say my greatest achievement has been working on a project that consolidated existing technology to develop a mobile-based interface that enables customers to download music to their mobiles. This could open up a range of new opportunities for Ericsson. Especially with businesses increasingly depending on communication technologies in order to compete. It makes working on projects at the forefront of technical advances very rewarding indeed – particularly in an environment where, if you work hard, you can realise your potential and really progress.

Case Study 2

Mallika Baijal
Role: Marketing Manager, Region Western and Central Europe
University: MSc International Business and Management, University of Manchester
Joined Ericsson: September 2008

I started life at Ericsson in 2008 as a Customer Project Manager on the Graduate Scheme which was an 18 month structured programme that combined on-the job learning with training designed to equip a graduate such as myself with the skills I would require to become a future business leader. Invaluable to my professional development has been building an understanding of the soft skills required coupled with technical training to enhance my knowledge and awareness of the ICT industry.

Beyond the graduate scheme by career has developed. I have progressed from the challenging and rewarding Customer Project Manager role and moved into the field of marketing.  I find this an exciting area of the business that is giving me visibility and knowledge of a key facet of the global organisation.

I would strongly encourage potential candidates to apply for a graduate position at Ericsson.  Here they will find a unique opportunity to establish a career in a truly multinational company, which is leading the ICT industry with its technologies and is complemented by its high performing organisational culture.
