How about Christmas in Rome?
Joining our award-winning Graduate Development Framework (GDF), you'll not only benefit from an exciting and challenging environment. As part of the wider Finmeccanica Group, you will have access to attractive career prospects and International Learning and Development opportunities.
As early as the recruitment stage, Graduates are supported and encouraged to settle into their new corporate environment through a buddy scheme and professional induction process. New Graduates are allocated a buddy from the current graduate population to help answer any informal questions before the start date and a site visit is also arranged for the new Graduates to visit their new site, meet their new team and begin getting to know each other. An exciting and unique induction gets the GDF off to a flying start, with a week in Wales on an outward-bound activity course where Graduates enjoy kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling together.
Continuing the induction and settling in experience, Graduates participate in the Finmeccanica Learning Induction Programme (FLIP) that enables Graduates in every Finmeccanica Group company to work on projects together, as part of an International team. The teams will meet face to face in countries across Europe within the 2 year GDF, offering an excellent opportunity to make contacts across the globe and understand the Finmeccanica culture.
The Rewards - rewarding you and your performance
Graduates receive an attractive, competitive salary, a £2000 welcome payment and generous temporary accommodation assistance of up to £400 a month for the first 6 months where applicable.
Graduates are assigned challenging roles within the business and are rewarded with three performance-related salary reviews over the 2 years.
SELEX GALILEO is committed to offering continuous training and career development opportunities and recently won the Institute of Physics (IoP) Best Practice in Professional Development Award 2007. The award reflects the support we offer to Graduates to enable them to quickly develop their careers and move up the career ladder.
Graduates are supported in working to achieve Chartership with their corresponding Chartered Institute, in addition to receiving professional, on-the-job training, in-house business awareness sessions and attendance to the Graduate Orientation and Learning (GOAL) programme. The three modules of the GOAL programme aim to balance technical skills with soft-skills such as communication, team-working, negotiating, persuading and influencing skills; all of these crucial to personal development and career progression. GOAL is held offsite, with the second module taking place over four days during November, in Rome. The final module is the popular, annual Graduate Conference that brings together Graduates, Managers and Directors from different sites and companies in the Finmeccanica Group to celebrate the end of the 2 year GDF.
