PGL Travel Ltd

Put your French degree to good use in a role that’s a world away from your average 9-5 role and gives you the chance to live and work in France with full board accommodation provided.

PGL Travel Ltd is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays and educational courses for children. Now into our 54th year of successful business, more than 400,000 eager young guests come on a PGL holiday each year and we’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic staff to make that happen.

We have exciting vacancies for French-speaking Administrators, Group Co-ordinators, Language Representatives and Tour Leaders to work in some of France's most stunning locations, including Paris, the cultural heart of Europe. You can choose how long you want to work for, from 5 to 11 months, however preference will be given to people who can start work in January or February and work until at least the end of August.

As the key French-speakers at your centre, you’ll need to be fluent or a graduate. Our Tour Leaders, Language Counsellors and Group Co-ordinators bring learning French to life for our guests and make their classroom-learnt skills fun in the real world. Meanwhile, our Administrators are the key link between local suppliers and our head office to ensure the centre runs smoothly.

Our locations include the Opal Coast, the Dordogne, the Ardèche, Normandy, the Southern Mediterranean coast and the WWI battlefields of North east France, so there are plenty of stunning sites to choose from!

Our staff team receive a competitive weekly wage, free uniform, free accommodation (no bond) and a highly subsidised meal package. You’ll also get free return transport from a UK departure point and the chance to live and work in a supportive, rewarding environment that looks great on your CV, and where the emphasis is on fun and personal development.

Help to give our guests the time of their lives ... while you have yours!

Please click through to the PGL website for job descriptions, location information and our online application form.

To be considered for these roles, you’ll need to have a UK postal address, UK National Insurance number and have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for.

PGL is committed to the principles of equality and diversity: we welcome applications from all members of the community.

Case Study 1

Francesca Middleton – French-speaking Administrator – Chateau du Tertre

Frankie says: After graduating from University with a degree in French and Latin, I looked for a job where I could utilise my French language skills. PGL offered exactly the sort of role I wanted!

On a day-to-day basis I am responsible for a wide variety of tasks from dealing with phone enquiries and making calls to french suppliers/maintenance companies to accounting responsibilities including purchase orders, banking, petty cash and invoices. Every day is different which means I always have new tasks to adapt my language skills to!

I have become so much more confident in myself and my ability to speak French in front of others! My language skills have vastly improved and my vocabulary has become more extensive.

Working for PGL is an opportunity not to be missed. . I have made invaluable, lifelong friends and been to various sights, both have left me with lasting memories. There is a friendly, fun-working atmosphere and all sorts of opportunities to progress. I have never looked back!
