Our two-year Nationwide Management Development Programme (NMDP) gives you the choice of a Generalist or Specialist option, both of which typically comprise of three eight-month placements, which could be anywhere around the country. The Generalist Programme gives you experience of different areas of our business including a retail-based position, a role that develops your management and people skills, and an area using your project management/consultancy skills. The Specialist Programme offers you the choice of the following: Finance & Audit Human Resources Treasury Commercial Retail Branch Network Risk Management Product Management Central Retail Change Management Technology Strategy & Planning Information Security & Business Continuity.

You'll spend two/three of your placements in your chosen area, and one in another part of the business. We also have Industrial Placements and Summer Internships available in our Treasury division which is based in Northampton. Treasury is the financial hub of our business, investing and controlling up to £17 billion of assets to protect our balance sheet and limit our exposure to risk. The work ranges from complex transactional analysis and financial modelling, to hedge strategy and bond issues.
