European Training Service
Our principal activity is organising vocational training programmes within Europe, specifically recruiting for the Leonardo da Vinci programmes during the first Phase (1995-2000), second Phase (2000-2006) and third Phase (2007-2013) of Leonardo. Prior to that, youth exchanges were organised under Petra and other EU-funded initiatives.
The Leonardo da Vinci is a programme funded by the European Union and co-funded by host companies and/or other organisations. The programme is aimed at supporting the acquisition of new skills to facilitate personal development and facilitate mobility of people through European partnerships. Its main objective is to 'contribute through lifelong learning to the development of the Community as an advanced knowledge society, with sustainable economic development, more and greater jobs and greater social cohesion.
The programme comprises a 2 weeks' language course in the destination country, followed by a 10 weeks' work experience placement within a company in the destination country. The type of work experience provided is mainly in the multi-professional sector and the type of work will depend upon pre-existing language skills, professional/educational background and type of career of interest. Although there are not salaried positions, International Travel, Accommodation, Language Course, Insurance and a living allowance are covered for every participant.
