What does your current role involve?
Currently I assist in the monthly forecasting; including depreciation/Capex/Ireland and inter-company cost and revenue forecasts. I also support with accounting for group operating lease commitments and management reporting; including both the production and maintenance of management reports for the different business units within DHL express UK and Ireland.
What have you found to be the best part of your programme?

The graduate training modules have also been really invaluable to me. As well as teaching useful skills I use in my placement they also provide an opportunity to network informally with graduates from the other programmes.

Case Study 3
Name: Adam Blake
Programme: Graduate Operations Management Programme
Placement Details: Healthcare Sector
What does your current role involve?
I am involved in process improvement, essentially I analyse the current processes within our distribution centre, create error reports and make recommendations based upon my findings.
What have you found to be the best part of your programme?
I really like the fact that I have been given a lot of early responsibility. This has given me the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to my site. In the short time I’ve been with DHL I have developed my skills and knowledge base immensely and I am hugely grateful for the help that my mentor has given me.
What’s the worst thing about your role / what’s been most challenging?
One of the most challenging parts of my role was to initially gain credibility from the staff on site. I found that the best way to do this was to go “back to the floor” and learn the processes on site from the bottom up. By working hard I proved my credibility and gained a lot of respect from the warehouse operatives.
