The British Council language assistants' programme has been running for 106 years. It places UK undergraduates and graduates in schools, colleges and universities overseas for up to one full academic year to assist with the teaching of English and raising cultural awareness. The programme spans four continents, placing around 2,500 people in 15 countries worldwide - Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Paraguay, Spain and Switzerland.

In addition to the experience of living and working abroad, you will also improve your own language skills and inspire and motivate your students. You will work between 12-20 hours a week and receive a local salary, leaving you with time to explore!
